Meadow Brook Concert & Cuisine

More than 350 ($85 - $125 tickets) convened at Oakland University for the annual summer fundraiser for MBT - “Michigan’s answer to Broadway.” Before the food stations opened, folks lollygagged outside sipping beer and wine from the Rochester Tap Room and bid $9,000 for the silent auction items Colleen Brnabic and Maryann Foxlee had set up in the hallway. Generous local restaurants (see photo gallery) served savory fare for dining on the stroll before the theatre doors opened. Artistic director Travis Walter conducted a live auction with his trademark good humor. He got $500 from two bidders for two Dickens packages that included a walk-on role in MBT’s “A Christmas Carol”  and $900 for a Fender Squire Guitar signed by The Grass Roots Band.

Boat, trailer stolen in Rochester Hills

02/17/2017 - A boat and trailer was stolen sometime on or about Wednesday, February 1, from a home in the 2700 block of Hickory Lawn Street in Rochester Hills, authorities said.

Deputies spoke with the victim who said his Tracker boat and trailer were parked next to his home on Wednesday evening but noticed it was missing about 5:49 a.m. on Thursday, February 2.

The victim said he didn't hear any noises overnight that would have indicated the boat was stolen, nor did his dog alert him to any problems.

Deputies observed several tire marks in the snow along the driveway of the home, but said they were unable to determine if they were left by the victim's vehicle or a potential suspect.

The boat was valued at $10,000 and the trailer was valued at $1,000.
