Teen arrested following assault with a bottle

09/08/2017 - A 16-year-old Rochester Hills teen was arrested early Sunday, September 3, in connection with a felonious assault with a beer bottle that injured a female victim in the 3400 block of Cherry Road.

Oakland County sheriff's deputies responded about 1:40 a.m. to the call from a woman who said her son had struck the victim on the arm with the bottle, and that she was bleeding badly from the broken glass. The teen then ran away from the scene.

Deputies were able to secure the scene and the victim was transported by paramedics to Troy Beaumont Hospital for treatment. Deputies then established a perimeter around the home and requested a K-9 unit to track the teen.

Deputies were able to locate the teen prior to the arrival of the K-9 unit. He was taken into custody and taken to Children's Village pending a juvenile intake hearing.

The case is under investigation.
