Worker arrested for assault
A Saginaw man was arrested on Monday, September 11 in connection with misdemeanor assault after he allegedly threw a cup of coffee at a co-worker during an argument at a Rochester Hills landscaping business, authorities said. Deputies responding about 9:13 a.m. to the report of an assault at Green Tree & Lawn Care, 2614 Leach Road, arrived to speak to two employees involved in an altercation. The sheriff's office said the men separated prior to their arrival. The victim, 27, of Waterford, told deputies another 27-year-old man arrived late to work that day and, per the work policy, was assigned to a different landscaping crew for the day. However, the victim said the man declined to take the alternate work assignment, got into the victim's vehicle and refused to leave, at which point a verbal argument ensued. The victim said during the course of the argument, the man threw a cup of coffee at him. Deputies said the man admitted to throwing about a quarter-cup of coffee at the victim. The man was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor assault and transported to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Rochester Hills substation where he was fingerprinted. He was cited for assault and released pending an arrest warrant.
