Rochester Hills to host blood drive

The American Red Cross will conduct a community blood drive on Tuesday, October 24, at Rochester Hills City Hall in order to help meet the demand for blood in light of recent disasters across the country.

There is a desperate need for blood here in Michigan, according to the American Red Cross Blood Services. Due to the many disasters that happened across the country, that need has expanded exponentially.

Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett encouraged residents capable of donating blood to do so during the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"These donations will be used to help communities prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters big and small,” Barnett said. "We are proud to host this event and provide residents with this opportunity to help those who have been affected by tragedies like the Las Vegas shootings and recent hurricanes."

Rochester Hills City Hall is located at 1000 Rochester Hills Drive.
