Disorderly conduct at Red Roof Inn

Orion Township man was cited on Saturday, November 11, for disorderly conduct following several complaints that a stranger was bothering guests and asking to sleep in their rooms at a Rochester Hills motel, authorities said.

A manager at the Red Roof Inn, 2580 Crooks, told sheriff's deputies the inn received several complaints about a suspicious man knocking on tenants' doors and asking if he could sleep on the floor of their room.

Deputies spoke with a 38-year-old Orion Township man who admitted to knocking on the doors and asking to sleep in the rooms, but claimed he was "playing a game." When questioned further, the man was unable to explain the "game."

Authorities said the man recently became unemployed from an auto manufacturer, moved out of his residence in Orion Township and was recently without a residence. He was cited for disorderly conduct and instructed not to return to the motel.
