Bates Street Dinner honors society pillars

At its annual Bates Street Society Dinner on Saturday, February 3, at The Community House in Birmingham, seven notable local individuals who have contributed in numerous different ways to the community will be honored, as well as lauding people for their significant charitable contributions toward supporting the work and mission of The Community House.

The event honors seven individuals who have been deemed The Community House’s 2018 Pillars of Vibrancy in the community. They include Robert Bury, Dr. David DiChiera and Paul W. Smith as Pillars of Culture; Geoffrey Hockman, Julie Rodecker and Katie Valenti as Pillars of Philanthropy; and Dr. Robert Folberg as the Pillar of Education and Wellness.

An inspirational address will be given by Ethan D. Davidson, treasurer of the William Davidson Foundation. The black tie optional event begins at 6:30 p.m., has a three-course seated dinner, and features live entertainment.

The recognition dinner will officially induct donors into the “Bates Street Society.” Membership into the society is achieved when a donor’s cumulative giving totals $25,000 or more.

The event is presented by PNC Wealth Management and hosted by The Community House Foundation’s Board of Directors. General admission tickets are $200, with patron tickets at $300. Seating is limited.
