Purse stolen after sliding door broken

A home was broken into in the 1900 block of Cole in Birmingham around 3 a.m. Sunday, January 28, after a rock was thrown through a sliding glass door.

Birmingham police were dispatched to the house after the residents said they heard the sound of breaking glass just after 3 a.m. A large rock was discovered on the floor in the kitchen, and officers discovered that the sliding door window had been broken out.

A purse that had been on the kitchen counter was stolen.

Birmingham police are investigating.
