Fed Ex truck stolen while package delivered

A Fed Ex delivery driver had his parked truck stolen while he was delivering a package to a Birmingham business on Monday, February 12.

The delivery driver informed Birmingham police he parked his Fed Ex Truck in the rear alley behind Woodward Camera, 33600 Woodward Avenue, around 10 a.m., and walked into the business to deliver a package. When he walked out of the building, he watched as his truck traveled southbound down the alley.

Officers spoke to an eyewitness who described the suspect who got into the truck and drove off in it as a black male wearing a dark knit cap.

The truck was later recovered in Detroit.

Birmingham police are still searching for the suspect.
