Vandals break cement yard ornament

Sheriff's investigators are looking for a teen driving a white Jeep that broke a cement yard statue on Monday, February 26, in the 1300 block of Hathaway in Rochester Hills.

A Rochester Hills resident at 1353 Hathaway told sheriff's deputies they were alerted about the incident by a neighbor who said they witnessed a teen exit a white Jeep Liberty with rust on the body about 5 a.m. and push over the cement deer, valued at $500.

The victim notified the sheriff's office about 4:13 p.m. The resident told a deputy who responded to the scene that another Jeep with several teens drove by and laughed while waiting for the deputy to arrive. The resident also told the deputy that they contacted the vice principal at Rochester Adams High School to inquire whether a vehicle matching the description of the white Jeep was located at the school.

The incident remains under investigation.
