Rochester Hills State of the City address set

The annual Rochester Hills State of the City address is scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, at Stoney Creek High School, highlighting new business growth, the city's newest park and why the city considers itself the preeminent place to live, work and raise a family.

The address will mark the 12th State of the City address to be delivered by Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan K. Barnett.

"I love telling our story in a unique and engaging way," Barnett said. "We attempt each year to exceed our guests' expectations and transform a traditional and sometimes even boring event into an experience that provides meaningful engagement."

The annual address brings together business leaders, residents and government officials to hear the community's highlights, planned initiative and other highlights. Barnett has traditionally brought out a few surprises, such as live music and dancing, short films and his trademark mayoral comedic relief. More than 600 people attended the 2017 State of the City address last year. The event has been recognized by the Michigan Municipal League as one of the most entertaining speeches in the state.

The event begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but has limited seating.
