Friends of the Library to hold book sale

The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library on Thursday, April 26, will kickoff a four-day book sale that will feature a special collection of publications about quilts and quilting, in addition to a wide assortment of other books, games, movies and music.


The sale will run from Thursday, April 26 to Sunday, April 29, at the Rochester Hills Public Library, 500 Olde Towne Road, in downtown Rochester.


Except for a few higher quality items that are priced individually, the majority of hardcover and large softcover books are priced at $1 each, while paperbacks and children books are offered for 50 cents. The sale also offers many DVDs, CDs, books on CD, board and digital games and VHS tapes at bargain-bin prices.


Friends of the Library members on Wednesday, April 25 will receive first pick of all items for sale from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memberships are available prior to the sale and at the door. 


General public sale hours begin on Thursday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, April 29, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Shoppers on Sunday may purchase a grocery bag of remaining items for $5 per bag.


Books and other items for sale are donated by library patrons throughout the year. Proceeds from the sale go to Friends, which is the library's prime non-public support group. More information about membership and how to donate are available at
