SUV spotted after alarm went off

A Bloomfield Township homeowner who had cancelled police services when their burglary alarm went off, arrived home to find an unknown dark-colored SUV in their driveway, and their front door damaged.

Bloomfield Township police reported that on Friday, April 20, they received notice of a burglary alarm and dispatched officers to the 1900 block of Bayou Drive. While the officers were en route, the homeowner called and cancelled the police services. However, a short time later, the homeowner reported that he had arrived home to find a dark-colored SUV in the home's driveway, which fled the scene. It was driven by a heavy set, white male in his late 40s or early 50s.

The homeowner immediately after discovered the front door of the home had been damaged. It was unknown if anything had been stolen.

Neighbors interviewed by police reported seeing a black SUV driving slowly through the neighborhood just prior to the burglary.

Bloomfield Township police are investigating.
