Bloomfield Township police are looking for information from the public on an assailant who attacked a 17-year-old male who was riding his bike around 9:25 p.m. on Monday, May 28, near the 1200 block of Ward Road. The assailant stabbed the rider twice and punched him before the teen was able to get away and call for help. Bloomfield Township police received a 911 call from a resident who was attending to the injuries of the 17-year-old male who had just been attacked. The victim told officers he had been riding his bicycle northbound on Ward Road, and as he was about to pass another person on the road, who then stepped in front of him and stopped him. According to the victim, the subject demanded the victim's wallet, backpack and bicycle. A struggle ensued, and the assailant pulled out a knife and stabbed the teen twice while threatening to kill him several times during the attack. He also punched the teen in the face. The victim was able to get away and ran to the home of a resident, who called 911. The subject is described as a black male in his mid-20s, 6-feet 2-inches to 6-feet 4-inches tall, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with black drawstrings, black Adidas athletic pants with a white stripe down the sides, a purple bandana and black Nike shoes.
