Traffic to shift on Walton Boulevard June 2

A shift in traffic due to road work is scheduled to occur on Saturday, June 2 along Walton Boulevard between Squirrel Road and Adams Road in Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills, the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) said. The RCOC said they are expecting to shift two-way traffic to the north half of Walton Boulevard in the area to ensure traffic safety. Subdivision entrances at Firewood and Bellarmine drives on the north side of Walton will be closed for the duration of the project. Residents are advised to use Adams and Tienken roads to access the subdivision during the closure. The traffic signal at Firewood Drive will be temporarily deactivated. The contractor for the project, Z Contractors, will begin the removal of three culverts on the south half of Walton. Once the culvert work is complete on the south side of the boulevard, two-way traffic will be shifted to the south half of the boulevard while the three culverts are removed and replaced on the north half. The section of Walton will also be resurfaced. The project is expected to conclude in the late fall with the possibility of paving work done in the spring of 2019.
