Deputies apprehend burglar in Rochester Hills

A 17-year-old Orchard Lake man was arrested on Saturday, July 21, after allegedly breaking into a home in the 600 block of Lake Ridge Road in Rochester Hills, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies responded about 2:44 p.m. to the report of a man attempting to break into a home in the area. The victim said he was downstairs in the home and thought he heard someone inside the house. Upon walking upstairs, the victim saw a male inside his home. The victim fled the house and called 911. The sheriff's office said the teen entered the home, but ran when he realized someone was home. Deputies were able to apprehend the man as he was walking toward his vehicle. The teen is an acquaintance of the family and told deputies he believed they were out of town. The teen was arrested and held at the Oakland County Jail. The case is under investigation.
