Man robs Oakland Township Subway shop

July 27, 2018

Oakland County Sheriff's Office investigators are looking for information about a man who robbed an Oakland Township Subway restaurant on Sunday, July 22, in the 4800 block of Adams Road.

Deputies responded about 7:57 p.m. to Subway, 4834 Adams Road, to the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. The store clerk said a black man wearing a construction outfit and a dust mask over his face entered the store and ordered a sandwich. After making the sandwich, the man drew a semi-automatic handgun, racked it and demanded money from the register.

The man fled the store with about $200 from the cash register, the sub and two cookies.

Deputies responding to the scene established a perimeter, and two sheriff's K-9 units attempted to track the man. The K-9 units tracked the man to the rear of the shopping center where it's believed the man had a vehicle waiting for him. He wasn't able to be located.

Detectives and evidence technicians responded to the scene.

The man was described as being about 30 years old, between 5-feet, 10-inches tall and 6-feet tall, and was wearing a red and white baseball cap and an orange construction vest.

Investigators also believe the man is responsible for a second robbery at a Subway restaurant in in the 6600 block of Dixie Highway in Independence Township that occurred shortly after the robbery in Oakland Township.

Investigators ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1.800.SPEAK.UP. A $1,000 cash reward is being offered for information leading to the man's arrest. All tips are confidential and may be anonymous.
