SMART offering free shuttles on Saturday

For those needing to use SMART buses on Saturday, August 18 – also known as Dream Cruise Saturday – SMART is offering free shuttle buses on Woodward from 8 Mile Road to downtown Pontiac from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

SMART will be taking alternate routes in order to stay off of Woodward, but will be picking up at hubs on Woodward, including the State Fair Transit Center; 11 Mile and Campbell in Royal Oak; 13 Mile and Coolidge in Royal Oak; Somerset Collection South in Troy; and downtown Pontiac.

According to SMART, “Beginning at 8 a.m., passengers who use routes 450, 460, 461 and 462 can avoid the congestion on Woodward by utilizing SMART's bypass route. Passengers may get on and off at any red SMART bus stop/FAST or safe location along the route – just flag the driver down.”
