Car wash employee steals phone, has pot

Birmingham police arrested a Jax Kar Wash employee who admitted he stole a cell phone from a vehicle and was in possession of marijuana.

On Monday, August 20, Birmingham police were called to the Birmingham Jax Kar Wash location at 34800 Woodward Avenue, after a customer reported that an iPhone was missing from their vehicle. A 27-year-old employee living in Southfield admitted to police that he had taken the phone.

While arresting him, officers also discovered he was in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and issued citations for larceny from auto and possession of marijuana.
