August 24, 2018

Two Rochester Hills teens were robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday, August 15, inside their motel room in the 2000 block of Crooks Road, authorities said.

Oakland County sheriff's deputies responded about 7:31 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery at the Red Roof Inn, 2580 Crooks in Rochester Hills, where two 19-year-old men said they were robbed by a person known to them and three other people.

The victims said an 18-year-old Rochester Hills man and three others entered the motel room and one of the men brandished a pistol and demanded money. The men took the victims' money, an Apple iPad and other electronic devices, then fled in a burgundy 2007 Ford Mustang belonging to the man known to the victims.

Deputies attempted to locate the man known to the victims, who was identified by authorities at his last known address, but were unable to find him.

The gunman was described as a black male, standing about 5-feet, 3-inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds wearing a black ski mask over his face and no shirt. The other two unknown men were described as both being about 5-foot, 10-inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds, one black with no shirt and one white with unidentified clothing, both about 18 to 20 years old.

The vehicle was described as a 2007 Ford Mustang GT, maroon or burgundy in color, with a spoiler and loud exhaust with a license plate number of CEP329.

The incident is under investigation.
