Traffic stop reveals drugs, digital scale, cash

Three teens and an adult male were arrested in connection with drugs on Thursday, August 30, after a sheriff's deputy found an undisclosed amount of marijuana and distribution items in their vehicle on M-59, near Rochester Road.

The Oakland County Sheriff's office said a deputy noticed a 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo being driven recklessly in the area and initiated a traffic stop. Upon approaching the car, the deputy smelled marijuana coming from inside it.

While identifying the occupants of the vehicle, the deputy saw one of them try to kick a baggie of marijuana under the front seat. All of the occupants were then removed from the vehicle and deputies discovered several additional baggies of marijuana, packaging materials, a digital scale and cash.

The four males were transported to the Rochester Hills substation where a detective from the sheriff's Narcotics Enforcement Team followed up with the investigation.

Those arrested include an 18-year-old Shelby Township male; a 17-year-old Royal Oak male; a 20-year-old Madison Heights male; and a 16-year-old Clinton Township male, who was released to his parents.
