Bicycles stolen from apartment complexes

Two Rochester Hills residents told sheriff's deputies their bicycles were locked when they were stolen from areas outside of their residences at two different apartment complexes.

The first theft occurred sometime on Friday, September 14, in the 1600 block of Bedford Square Drive, at the Bedford Square Apartment complex. The victim told deputies her purple Schwinn adult female bicycle was locked up under a car port with a cable lock. She said the cable was cut sometime that day or overnight and the damaged lock was left behind.

The bike was valued at $150.

A second theft occurred sometime overnight on Saturday, September 15, to Sunday, September 16, in the 3400 block of Ridgeview Court. The victim said an unspecified Trek bicycle was stolen that was locked up with a cable lock outside of their residence. The cable was cut and the bike was stolen sometime between 8 p.m. and 1 p.m. the following day.

The bike was equipped with a black water bottle with a teal cap. The value wasn't known.

Officers are investigating.
