Halloween at the Village on October 28

The Village of Rochester Hills and Cornerstone Community Financial will host the annual Halloween at the Village from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 28. The event provides a host of children's activities while raising funds and food for children in need.

This year, the Village is teaming with Blessings in a Backpack to provide local children with food throughout the school year. Those attending are asked to provide a $5 donation for each child or bring five non-perishable items as entry into the activities. All money and food donated will go to Blessings in a Backpack, a "neighbor-helping-neighbor" program designed to meet the nutritional needs of children and families.

Food items needed most include granola bars, single-serving cereal, peanut butter, mac & cheese, chicken soup, cans of ravioli, juice boxes, fruit snacks, fruit cups and rice crispy treats.

Activities for the day include hayrides, bounce houses, an AR Workshop making wooden halloween craft; interactive trick or treating stations; a pumpkin art project at Village Art Gallery; a giveaway by Oakland County Moms; a pumpkin patch in Fountain Park with photo opportunities hosted by Telly's Nursery; a Cornerstone Community Financial backdrop for family photos; and fire trucks from the Rochester Hills Fire Department.

The event also will host a pumpkin sale at the pumpkin patch with half of all proceeds benefiting Blessings in a Backpack.
