Cognac thief takes off on bicycle

A man who stole a bottle of Hennessy cognac from a gas station on Woodward in Birmingham took off on a bicycle, employees told police on Thursday, October 11.

Employees at the Shell gas station at 33600 Woodward Avenue, called Birmingham police after a man put a bottle of Hennessy in his backpack and then walked out of the store and took off on a bicycle.

They described the suspect to officers as a white male, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall, about 150 pounds, wearing black pants, a black long sleeve shirt, black baseball hat and carrying a black backpack.

Birmingham police are investigating.
