Man nabbed with stolen Kroger groceries

Bloomfield Township officers stopped a red pickup truck on Friday, November 2, which had just stolen $300 worth of groceries from the Kroger store at Maple and Lahser.

Store employees at the Kroger at 3600 W. Maple Road, contacted Bloomfield Township police around 5:20 p.m. after a store employee reported seeing an older black man leave the store with a grocery cart full of items he hadn't paid for.

The man was then seen driving away from Kroger in a red pick up truck.

Bloomfield Township officers responded to the area, located the vehicle and reported they initiated a traffic stop, where they discovered over $300 worth of groceries in the vehicle.

The driver admitted to stealing the items and placed the man under arrest for retail fraud.

Bloomfield Township police report this case is still under investigation.
