Woman steals pants from Anthropologie

Police are investigating the theft of a pair of pants on Wednesday, March 13, from a downtown Birmingham clothing store involving an unknown woman believed to be in her 20s.

Police responded about 5 p.m. to the report of a theft at Anthropologie, 300 West Maple, after employees said a woman tried on a pair of pants in the fitting room, cut off the security device and then ran out of the store.

The woman was described as a black female, about 20 years old, standing 5-feet 8-inches tall and weighing about 125 pounds.

The incident is under investigation.
