The Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce will host a legislative reception on Tuesday, April 16, at the Townsend Hotel from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to give members the opportunity to mix and mingle with elected officials.
The legislative reception is a biennial Chamber of Commerce event. Confirmed officials attending include U.S. Representative Haley Stevens (D, MI-11); state Sen. Mallory McMorrow (D-Birmingham, Royal Oak, Troy); state Rep. Kyra Bolden (D-Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Franklin); Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner; and Oakland County Commissioner William Miller III, (D-Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Franklin).
“This event, while always important, takes on additional significance this year given we have so many brand new elected officials representing our communities,” said Chamber of Connerce President Joe Bauman. “This event is unique in that there are no speeches or program. Our business leaders and guests have the opportunity to speak directly, one-one-one, with the men and women who make laws that impact the business climate and quality of life in the greater Birmingham-Bloomfield area.”
The reception, which will be held in the Townsend Hotel's Regency Room, is sponsored by Comcast, Consumers Energy, the Birmingham Shopping District and DTE. There is a $20 charge to attend, with hors d'oeuvres provided and a cash bar. Reservations can be made at bbcc.com.
The Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber is a membership organization dedicated to promoting the economic development, strengthen the business climate and improve the quality of life in the six communities it serves – Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township and Franklin.
