Police arrest woman for shoplifting


A Sterling Heights woman was arrested on Wednesday, April 3, in connection with a retail fraud involving clothing and accessories at a Bloomfield Township department store, police said.

Bloomfield Township police officers responding about 8 p.m. to Target, 2400 Telegraph Road, spoke with a loss prevention manager at the store who said he observed the woman change the price tag on a pair of leggings, and conceal jewelry and makeup in her coat pockets. The woman allegedly tried to leave the store without purchasing the items. The items were valued at $213.

The woman, identified as Valentina Tina Gojcaj, 36, of Sterling Heights, was arrested by police. She was arraigned on Thursday, April 5, in 48th District Court in Bloomfield Township before Magistrate Julie Nelson-Klien and given a $15,000/10-percent cash bond.
