Police investigate counterfeit bill at pizzeria

Bloomfield Township police are looking into the discovery of a phony $20 bill that was used to purchase a meal on Sunday, April 28, from a local pizzeria.

Police responded about 10:15 p.m. to Hungry Howie's, 1615 S. Opdyke Road in Bloomfield Township, for a counterfeit bill complaint. The store manager told police he discovered the bill when counting the cash drawer prior to closing.

The manager said he believed a man passed the bill earlier that night when ordering a small pizza. The man left with $14.70 in change and never returned.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
