Quarton closing between Lahser and Cranbrook

Quarton Road from Lahser Road to Cranbrook Road on the Bloomfield Township/Bloomfield Hills border will close on Tuesday, May 28, through Monday, June 3, for road construction, the Road Commission for Oakland County said. The work will include extending the westbound Quarton Road left turn lane to southbound Lahser Road. The project will cause Quarton to be closed in both directions from just west of Merrimac Court to Lahser Road. Access to homes on Merrimac will be maintained, but motorists will only be able to travel to and from the east on Quarton throughout the project. The detour route for through traffic is Cranbrook Road to Maple Road, back to Lahser Road, and vice versa. The road is expected to reopen around June 3. The work is being done in advance of simple resurfacing that will take place on Quarton Road from Lahser to Woodward later this year.
