Porch pirates hit township home

Bloomfield Township police are encouraging residents to take advantage of alternative delivery methods for packages following the theft of two different deliveries on Monday, May 20. Police responded to two theft reports, including one in the 7000 block of Cathedral and one in the 5000 block of E. Miller Way. In each case, UPS and Amazon informed the residents their packages had been delivered. However, the items were missing from the front porch of the homes when the residents went to retrieve the items. "This type of theft is increasingly popular," the department said in a news release. "As a reminder, please schedule deliveries at a time where someone will be home to take receipt or have them delivered to your local post office." The cases are under investigation. Police ask anyone with information to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
