Man arraigned on fraudulent check charge

A man accused of attempting to cash a fraudulent check on Friday, June 7, at a Bloomfield Township bank in the 36000 block of Woodward Avenue was arraigned on one count of uttering and publishing, police said.

Bloomfield Township police responded to Comerica Bank, 36440 Woodward, for a complaint of a man trying to cash what was believed to be a fraudulent check. Officers located the man in the parking lot, who told them he was trying to cash his paycheck but the bank refused.

Bank employees told police there were several indicators that the check wasn't legitimate. Officers contacted the company listed on the check and discovered it was counterfeit.

Police arrested Terry Pentaz Durr Jr., 23, in connection with uttering and publishing. He was arraigned the following day before 48th District Court Magistrate Michael Bosnic and held on $10,000 personal bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 24.
