Purse, credit cards stolen from gym parking lot

Credit cards stolen from a locked vehicle on Friday, June 7, from the parking lot of a Bloomfield Township gym were used a short time later in Southfield, police said.

Bloomfield Township police responded about 5 p.m. on June 7 to a theft complaint in the parking lot of Lifetime Fitness, 4106 Telegraph Road. The victim told police she left her purse under the seat of her 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee about 3:30 p.m. when she went inside to workout. When she returned about 5 p.m. a window of the car was broken out and the vehicle was unlocked.

The victim said her purse was stolen, which contained her personal identification, credit cards and bank cards.

Police said the victim received a notice from her bank while the police report was being taken that one of her cards was being used at a business in Southfield.

The case is under investigation.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
