July 3, 2019

Bloomfield Township police are asking for the public's help in identifying the person responsible for breaking into a car on Monday, June 17, that was parked in the driveway of a residence in the 6000 block of Cedarbrook Drive.

Police responded about 6:30 p.m. to the area when a homeowner told officers he found the door open to his 1998 BMW and the glove box rifled through.

Police talked with neighbors and found that the incident was captured on a RING doorbell camera system.

The footage showed a man opening the vehicle and getting into a gold sport utility vehicle. Police said the SUV didn't have a muffler. The man was described as a black male, about 6-feet tall, 190 pounds with a beard and long braids.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
