Burglars steal jewelry from township home

A Bloomfield Township resident on Friday, July 27, returned home to find her front door smashed in and jewelry stolen from a bedroom, police said.

Bloomfield Township police responded about 12:17 p.m. to the 1100 block of Ivy Glen Circle for the complaint of a home break-in. Officers said the front door of the home was broken inward, and they found footprints that didn't match the homeowners.

The victim said some jewelry, valued over $1,000, was missing from a bedroom.

The case is under investigation.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
