Serial shoplifter caught on camera stealing

A 46-year old Pontiac man suspected of stealing more than $5,000 in outdoor power equipment from a Bloomfield Township Lowe's store was arrested after being caught on July 27 by store surveillance cameras, police said. Police said Jerome Ware was caught at Lowe's Home Improvement Store, 1801 Telegraph Road, with a shopping cart full of outdoor power equipment. Ware returned to the store three more times over a period of several days, each time leaving the store with stolen outdoor power equipment. In total, police said Ware stole about $5,300 in merchandise from the single store location. Bloomfield Township police said Ware was arrested allegedly committing the same crime in a neighboring city. Ware was arraigned on Friday, August 16, on charges of retail fraud before 48th District Court Magistrate Judy Nelson-Klein. His bond was set at $100,000 cash. He is scheduled to appear on Monday, August 26, before Judge Kimberly Small at 48th District Court.
