Gaming shoplifter sought by township police

Police are seeking information about a man who is believed to have stolen video games from a Bloomfield Township store on Friday, August 23, while shopping with a young child.

Bloomfield Township police said the man was caught on video surveillance entering a restroom at Best Buy, 2169 Telegraph Road, with two Nintendo Switch games. When he exited the restroom, the merchandise couldn't be found. Evidence in the restroom led officers to believe the man removed the games from their packaging.

Police responding to the scene were told the man and child left in a gray Chevrolet Impala.

The man was described as a black male, about 6-feet, 3-inches tall, with a thin build and a full beard wearing a camouflage coat and black pants. The man was with a young black female, about six years old, with braids and white beads in her hair.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
