Blower stolen from road crew on Woodward

Bloomfield Hills police are investigating the theft of a leaf blower that was stolen on the afternoon of Monday, September 30, from a road crew working along Woodward Avenue, near Long Lake Road.

Officers responded about 3:23 p.m. to Woodward Avenue, about a half mile south of Long Lake Road, where they spoke with the foreman of the crew. The foreman told police the crew was making repairs to the road and utilizing a backpack blower to clean debris from the work area.

The crew left the blower next to the road while they left the site for a 30-minute lunch break, but found the blower missing when they returned.

The value of the blower was about $1,000.

The case is under investigation.
