Man arrested for smoking crack while driving

A 50-year-old Plymouth man was arrested on Friday, October 18, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after admitting to Birmingham police he had been smoking crack cocaine. Birmingham police said an officer about 11 p.m. pulled over a vehicle at Woodward and Hazel after the driver ran a red light and was weaving in and out of its lane. The driver told the officer that he had been doing crack. A crack pipe was found on the driver's seat. The man was arrested for suspicion of operating under the influence of drugs.
