Township police investigate home burglaries

Bloomfield Township police are investigating a pair of apparently unrelated burglaries that occurred on Monday, November 25. Officers responded about 3 p.m. to the complaint of a home invasion in the 2000 block of Cloverlawn Road where the homeowner arrived home to discover an open door to his garage. Once inside, the homeowner found the front door unlocked and all the drawers in his bedrooms open. An undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry were stolen during the incident. Officers responded about 5:40 p.m. to a second home invasion in the 200 block of Eileen Street. The homeowner told police she arrived home and found her purse and its contents dumped onto the dining room table. A laptop computer was also missing. The victim discovered the rear door to the home open, then left the home to call 911. Several other laptops and computer accessories were also stolen. Investigators believe the burglary to have occurred earlier in the day at about 10 a.m. Police ask anyone with information about either of the incidents to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
