Bloomfield Township Peeping Tom arrested

February 14, 2020

About a week after a Bloomfield Township resident first noticed on surveillance cameras someone had been looking in his windows, Bloomfield Township police arrested a man as the suspect.

On Thursday, February 6, officers responded to S. Spinning Wheel Drive at approximately 10 p.m. when an officer observed a subject running from a backyard in the 500 block of S. Spinning Wheel Drive which fit the description of an individual caught on surveillance cameras looking into windows of a home in the 2000 block of the street on January 30 and 31.

The officer took the subject into custody without incident.

Moments after the subject was detained, the homeowner from the original complaint arrived at the scene and showed officers surveillance footage of the subject underneath a window at the rear of his home.

The subject, Donovan Rashaad Johnson, 27, of Bloomfield Hills, was issued a citation for window peeping, and arraigned in front of Magistrate Howard Linden at 48th District Court on Friday, February 7.

Johnson was given a cash bond of $10,000, no 10 percent. A GPS tether was also ordered, and Johnson was ordered to surrender all firearms to the Bloomfield Township Police Department.
