Bloomfield Township police arrested a man after he concealed and stole a $550 putter and range finder from Carl's Golfland on Friday, March 13. Officers watched as Matthew Brenneman, 36, of Pontiac, entered Carl's Golfland, 1976 Telegraph in Bloomfield Township, and concealed a $550 range finder. They then stopped him after he left the store. Along with the range finder, officers discovered a $429 putter concealed in the sleeve of his jacket, and they arrested him. Brenneman was arraigned at 48th District Court in front of Magistrate Andra Richardson. He was charged with first degree retail fraud, and given a cash bond of $5,000. He was lodged in the Oakland County Jail.
