BBAC launches at-home Art Challenge

With families staying at home during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Association (BBAC) has launched its first at-home Art Challenge for all ages, encouraging individuals and families to make art within their own surroundings using everyday items they have at home. The first challenge is inspired by artist Andy Goldsworthy, a sculptor, photographer and environmentalist who produces site-specific sculptors and what is called “land art” in natural and urban settings. His work can be viewed at bbartcenter.org/bbacs-art-challenge. Participants are invited to go on an adventure through their own backyard, observe the natural elements that exist right outside their own door, collect objects and then use them to create their own land sculpture. At-home artists are invited to send their images to info@BBArtCenter.org with “Art Challenge” in the subject line. Include your name and age. The BBAC will post select photos on its website and social media platforms.
