Counterfeit bill, no license, no weapon permit

A traffic stop at Telegraph and Long Lake roads in Bloomfield Township at midnight on Tuesday, September 8, led to the discovery of a woman without a valid driver's license, a counterfeit $100 bill, and a stun gun. Bloomfield Township police stopped the 2009 Pontiac G6 for a traffic violation, the officer reported, and he discovered the woman driver, a 22 year-old from Detroit, did not have a valid driver's license, and a computer check revealed that she had had her license suspended several times. When the officer searched her vehicle, he found a counterfeit $100 bill in the glove box, which the vehicle's passenger admitted was fake. Police also discovered a stun gun in the passenger's purse, for which the 19 year-old woman from Detroit had no permit. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for driving while license suspended and released pending a court date at 48th District Court. The car's passenger was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon. She was video arraigned before a magistrate at 48th District Court, where she was not charged with possession of counterfeit currency. She was given a $1,000 personal bond and released pending a future court date.
