Bike stolen from Whole Foods, thief caught

A bicycle stolen from a locked, trunk-mounted bike rack which was parked at Whole Foods in Birmingham, was later seen being ridden along Maple Road by a man from Madison Heights on Wednesday, October 7. A woman told Birmingham police she was shopping at Whole Foods, 2100 E. Maple Road, and when she returned to her vehicle, around 1 p.m., she discovered her bike had been stolen from her trunk-mounted bike rack and the bike lock had been cut. Officers later saw a man riding her bicycle along Maple Road, and they approached the man, a 41 year old from Madison Heights. He confessed to stealing the bike, and was arrested for larceny.
