Before job interview, applicant steals tip jar

A potential employee showing up for an interview at a cafe in the 33300 section of Woodward Avenue in Birmingham is believed to have robbed the establishment of its tip jar while waiting for the interview to start.

The manager of the cafe reported to police on Friday, September 1, that the individual took the jar off the counter and fled the restaurant before the interview started. It is unknown how much money may have been in the tip jar.

Birmingham police said an investigation is ongoing.
