Cadillac owner hears vehicle being stolen

The owner of a Cadillac Escalade was awakened around 12:45 a.m. Saturday, February 18, by the sound of his vehicle starting, and when he looked outside his home in the 6000 block of Old Orchard Road in Bloomfield Township, he saw it being driven away.

Bloomfield Township officers responded to the home, where the owner of the Escalade reported that he was woken up by the sound of his SUV being started in his driveway, and when he looked outside, the vehicle was being driven off. He told officers the vehicle was left unlocked in the driveway with the key fob inside of it.

Officers were quickly able to locate the vehicle stationary, in the city of Detroit, and the Detroit Police Department recovered the stolen vehicle around 3 a.m.

Bloomfield Township police report the case is currently under investigation, and anyone with information should call the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248.433.7755.
