Computer, watch missing from vehicle

A backpack containing a laptop computer and Shinola watch went missing on Wednesday, February 10, from a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Emmons Avenue, Birmingham police said.

The victim, a 36-year-old resident of Birmingham, told police he discovered the backpack was missing from his car when he retrieved his gloves from the vehicle about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday when he took his dog for a walk. However, he said he was unsure if he locked the car, which was parked on the street in front of his residence.

Police said the victim noted there weren’t any signs of forced entry to the vehicle, and no noticeable footprints in the snow near the parking spot.

Investigators spoke with neighbors and the laptop provider, but were unable to develop a suspect or witnesses.
