Dog bites delivery person and officer responding

A delivery driver and a Birmingham police officer were bitten by a dog while working on the 1000 block of West Lincoln Drive in Birmingham.

The delivery driver reported that the dog ran out of the home while she was walking up to the porch to deliver a package. She was bitten twice, leading police to be called.

When the officer arrived, the owner let go of the dog’s collar while grabbing her pet license information, and the dog ran and bit the officer. The owner of the dog was given a ticket for a vicious dog, according to police, and was advised to quarantine the dog for 10 days.
