Dog wards off burglar in township

A Bloomfield Township homeowner’s dog may have scared away a more serious home invasion around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12.

The homeowner woke up to her dog barking and heard a loud banging from the garage of their home in the 700 block of Westbourne Drive. When she checked the garage later that day, items were scattered throughout and the service door was halfway open, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

The Bloomfield Township Police Investigations Unit is currently investigating the case and ask those with information to call their non-emergency line at 248.433.7755.
