Door cameras pick up multiple car break-ins

The front door cameras of two different houses in Birmingham captured separate car break-ins on the night of Sunday, February 25, each catching multiple suspects going through cars.

A man living on the 1300 block of Dorchester Road reported to police at 7 a.m. that his front door camera caught three suspects opening the door of his vehicle and going through it.

During the same night, at roughly 3 a.m., a male resident living on the 1000 block of Forest Avenue reported to police that he received a movement alert from the front door camera’s mobile app. The camera caught two suspects trying to open the car doors of multiple vehicles parked on the street.

Birmingham police have not indicated whether the thefts were related or if they believe the suspects are the same in each theft.

Police report an investigation is ongoing.
